Costa Verde's commitment to the ecology and sustainability of our planet goes far beyond that of other so-called "eco-resorts". We recycle, avoid harmful pesticides, support sustainable practices in the hotel and the restaurants, and manage our jungle, its flora and its fauna with the best sustainable methods.

Recycling to Another Level

From the fuselage of our Boeing 727 and the C-123 aircraft of El Avión, to the train cars of La Cantina and El Wagon, Costa Verde has taken abandoned objects destined for scrap and turned them into beautiful and useful attractions that delight, astonish and educate.

Reforestation

We plant 10,000 plants and trees each year on our properties, creating a diverse ecosystem for the wildlife of our rainforest. Our own nurseries propagate thousands of new plants and trees year after year.

Sustainable Wood

We craft most of our furniture, lamps and building materials in our own wood workshop, using naturally fallen trees when possible and reusing wood waste as mulch or as fuel for our grills and wood-fired ovens.

Water and Energy

The water for the restaurants is preheated with solar energy, we collect rainwater for the laundry service and we reuse wash water to irrigate the gardens and the nursery.

In Our Facilities

Signs in the rooms invite guests to reuse towels and to turn off the air conditioning, the lights and the TV when they are not in use.
All light bulbs have been upgraded to energy-efficient bulbs.
Biological treatment of wastewater.
Recycling program with containers for glass, paper and plastic in guest rooms, restaurants and throughout the property.
The cleaning staff uses biodegradable cleaning products.
The gardening team continuously prunes and replants the natural species of flora and fauna.
